And, if you get your flu shot at Safeway, you’ll get an award for 10% off your next grocery purchase! I went in to get my flu shot on a weekend and they only had one person in the pharmacy.  She stated that she couldn't give the flu shot to me because she was so busy and she was the only one there.  I had to come back during the week to get it where there is more than one person working...(I work during the week and don't have time to do it during the week...that's why I was there on the weekend!)  I was going to use the 10% coupon on my groceries that day.  I don't think I'll be getting my flu shot at Safeway!        False advertising??      Just saying.....

The employees at the Lee Harrison Safeway in Arlington VA have always been great and they still provide a feeling of community I've always enjoyed.  About a year ago produce & supply has become most inferior. After today's visit to my local Safeway I have to say I'm embarrassed to shop there now.  Before leaving the store today, I had to tell my employee friends that I was embarrassed for them.  Management has now made a policy to "woo-hoo" employees over the loudspeaker and staff are forced to join in "woo-hooing".   Perhaps this is for a good cause, it doesn't matter, I don't want it.  We can't turn around in Safeway without being asked to donate to a special cause, okay.  But this  form of recognition is an invasion to shopping pleasure.  Hokey and funny have been inturruptions over the loudspeakers for specials in the meat or fish department, but this is not fun or funny.  Is management trying to boost morale?  No matter the reason, this bombardment of ear splitting childishness is not the atmosphere I will shop in.  It is tasteless, hollow, and exemplifies a disconnect with customers, not to mention your staff.  Do you enjoy humiliating them?  They could not possibly voice this for fear of losing their jobs.  You are not putting yourselves in their shoes.  Whatever spirited motivation management dreamed this up for does not translate to the shopping floor.  For your employees' sake, stop this rediculous campaign.   For myself, I will go to Harris Teeter across the street, where I can shop in peace.
