Apples

sept.wk.38.apples.jpgFall is such a great time for apples. If you have the chance to go apple picking, you should! Besides getting fantastic apples (that you can make homemade apple pie with!), it’s a perfect family outing. When you’re choosing an apple, first look at the color. They should be vibrant no matter the variety, without any browning near the core and the skin shouldn’t have any blemishes. Ripe apples are large in size, so remember the bigger the apple, the riper it is on the inside. Apples become ripe very quickly, so store them in the coldest part of your refrigerator as soon as you get home to avoid any decay. After you bring them home, there are so many delicious ways to enjoy them! Make a pie or tart, eat them out of hand or with peanut butter, the possibilities are endless with apples.

Hey Tony, Fresh Grocer Guy... What is up with the price of produce??? I paid over $2.00 for a bell pepper...$2.00??? I know the price of produce these days, but  Safeway has the most outrageous prices. Next time I will drive a little farther to get a fair price.  Stores like Safeway need to try to look for ways to pass down saving to costumers.  The huge construction project going on tells me Safeway is doing well, so support the customers that support your business or Safeway will loose business.

Thanks,

hi

how fresh are the apples you sell? Im in WA and i read in the local press that there has been a bumper harvest of apples this year yet the ones i bought in store were OLD. They were obviously last years and had been stored in a warehouse for months - they may look okay but they are practically inedible. Is there any way you could inform the customers when the apples you sell left the tree?  Doesnt need to be exact date, perhaps the month would do.   Im tired of being sold garbage and having the hassle of returning it.

peace out

We apologize for any inconvenience Mr. A. Our produce should always be fresh which is why we have or Produce Guarantee in place. If a customer does not find our produce completely fresh, ripe, and delicious, we will refund or replace the purchase. If you have any questions regarding the produce you wish to purchase, we recommend speaking with your local store's Produce Manager who will be more than happy to help you. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.
