Gas Rewards and Giftcards

This has become a little bit of a game for me. Even though gas prices have dropped I still try hard to avoid paying full price for gas (or anything for that matter). While I’m not quite ready to start purchasing gifts for the holidays, there have been some household purchases and clothes for the kids (and me) that were needed. Since I knew the stores I was going to shop (Macy’s, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond) I went ahead and purchased gift cards at Safeway before I went shopping so I could double gas rewards.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I just spent $2.45 for 15 gal. of gas!!!!!

Using my Rewards card for the first time at the Safeway gas station, I was given a $1.60 off on $1.75 rate.  WOW!!!!!

I just wish I had used it before!!!!!!

I have been so thankful for Safeway's innovative ideas with their gas rewards.  I commute 30 miles one way each day, and mass transit is not an available option.  I switched all of my grocery shopping to Safeway instead of only buying certain items during the weekly sales.  Combined with the fact that the employees at Safeway are the nicest that I encouter at any grocery store in my area, and it is silly to go anywhere else.

I like the fact that I can purchase gift cards online, but I cannot see where to input my club card number to earn the gas rewards.  Could someone point out how to do this?  I'd appreciate it.

How do you know which gift cards qualify for the double gas rewards?  Do stores like Target count?

by Jennstra(anon) on ‎12-16-2008 10:42 AM

I did all of my gift card shopping at Safeway and when I was going to a store, I checked at Safely first to see if I could buy a gift card to use for shopping. I was able to save up $1.70 in gas discounts. Then I waited until our BIG car's gaslight came on ~suggesting that we fill up quickly) and last night I filled it up. I was so excited I told the o'er folks who were filling up about my savings, they all came over to see that I was getting the gas for .01 per gallon.  Now I am not greedy, but the discount showed up as $1.68 a gallon, so I got 27 gallons for .27 TOTAL, I took a picture of the meter to show m kids and husband, then when I looked at the receipt this morning, I see that I got the .27 off as a futher discount! So I got 27 gallons for FREE!

I cannot begin to tell you all how happy I am that I was able to get so many discounts at Safeway, Thank You Thank You Thank you!

What does it mean on your recpt when it says you have accumulated $10.00

In response to Marjorie, any major store brand cards that are sold count for double rewards (even Target) but not cards such as Visa, Mastercard and American Express gift cards.

How do I change my phone number for my safeway card online? Some people have been using my number and stealing my gas credits. I haven't figured out who it is yet but I do want to change my number.

CITW, you can go to http://www.safeway.com/ShopStores/Update-Club-Card.page?ctx=4#iframetop to update your Club Card account information, or email us at safewaysocialmedia@safeway.com with the current information on card, plus what you’d like it changed to, and we’ll be happy to make the adjustments.

Hello ~

I was wondering if the Disneyland gift cards give you gas rewards points?

Thanks,

Kristine

Hi Kristine, purchasing Disneyland gift cards at our store does give you points towards your fuel rewards!

I have no Safeway, Mobile, or Exxon gas station around where I live.  Is there another way to cash in reward points

by on ‎12-21-2012 09:20 AM

Joreen, there currently is no alternative method to redeem your Fuel Reward points.  We will however, direct your comments to the Marketing Team for further review.
