Hello:

I have a quick question about "safeway select" brand 'honey and nut O's'  basically safeway's honey nut cheerios.  They seem to have changed the recipe to the point where it is unpalatable to me now.  To whom do I talk with about this?

Is is a permanent change?

Thanks

Kirby

Hi, your "Fire Eater" chips are too sweet.  Try to make a chip like Boulder Jalepano.

Veronica, HELP!!!

I'm hooked on the Safeway Select's French Salted Caramel ice cream.  Every night I eat a couple of scoops before bed, an just reward for another long day of graduate school completed (in Chicago, IL)!

I am currently in Massachusetts for 2 weeks for the holidays with my family.  Where can I purchase this product?  After two nights without it I am beginning to feel the ice cream monster inside me beginning a revolt!   Please help!

Many thanks,

Rebecca

As a family we have try the chips and cheese doodles and they are a delight to snack on watching t.v. The resealable bag is a great tool for freshness but usually I eat the whole bag :smileyhappy:

by on ‎12-28-2010 09:59 AM

We are glad you enjoy the ice cream Rebecca. Unfortunately we currently do not have stores in Massachusetts but we’re sure there will be plenty waiting for you back home! Thanks for the inquiry!

These chips are awesome! I am the branch manager of a bank that is located in the same parking lot as the local Safeway, and we've use these chips for our monthly evening customer appreciation galas. Everyone LOVES them! And the designs on the bags are awesome! The value, taste, and convenience (love the resealable bags) definitely made them my preferred chips!

Thanks, Safeway!

Snackie Jackie is back with a report from the Snackie Jackie household. The Snack Artist line is a BIG HIT so far. So far we've tried:

MariaCheese  YUM!

Catch the Wavy YUM!

Smokin  YUM!

NOM NOMs!

All I can say is move over Doritos and Lays Chips.. you got serious competition here.

PS the built in Zip lock zipper is a big plus.

Thanks again for your wonderful report "Snackie Jackie"! I'd love to know what other flavors you try. Your feedback is very important. :smileyhappy:

I understand from an employee at our local Safeway that the Snack Artist chips are made in Arizona. Can you tell me who makes them and where they are located? I am a chairperson of a large cooking club and it would make a great field trip for the ladies.

Feel free to email the info directly to me instead of posting.

Cami, please contact our Corporate Brands Department directly at 1888SAFEWAY. They can answer any questions you may have regarding this product and where it is made. Thanks for your interest!

I picked up a bag of the Fire Eater cheese curls and I really enjoy the cheese and spice flavors. Most spicy cheese curls don't feature enough cheese flavor.

Unfortunately, the re-sealable bag almost never reseals which is very disappointing because it is such a great idea to have a built-in seal :smileysad:

The Cheese Curls are AMAZING. I think they're far superior than that OTHER brand. The resealable bag, cheaper price, and hip cover art seal the deal for me. Safeway has really been upping their game lately, kudos to them.

Sincerely,

Junk food connoisseur, Bernie

Hey there, for years I've been trying to fight the urge to buy Nacho Cheesier Doritos.  I love the taste, but the MSG and oils really make me feel worse and worse.  I was just getting ready to write them a letter asking about MSG free recipes, and the next day I saw the MariaCHEEESE and gave them a try.  My wife and I were very pleased, they are the first chip out there to give Doritos a run for their money (and the price was great too).  I think Doritos are still slightly cheesier, so I'd like to see yours add a little more cheese (a good marker is how much ends up on your fingers, you can't really have too much).  Keep up the good work, and I'll keep buying these!  I've already started telling friends and family about em.

by on ‎03-28-2011 09:59 AM

Hello Ben,

I'm so pleased to hear that you love the taste of our Mariachicheese flavor. I'd be happy to pass along your suggestion and feedback to our Marketing Department.

Hi Veronica,

I'm feeling a little embarrassed here, and a little confused.  I went by my local Safeway to pick a bag of these chips up for a roadtrip treat.  But when I double checked the ingredients, this time I swear I saw either different ones or some that I missed.  Namely, monosodium glutomate.  Is there any chance the previous bag didn't have this?  I know this is a chemical that's used to make flavors more succulent/savory, but can you tell me any other reasons why it's used in snacks like these?  I feel like there are a lot of higher quality chips that don't need multiple variations of MSG to make an irrestable product.  I think this is a real opportunity for someone in the main stream stores to very easily surpass some of the big companies with a very small ingredient change.  The snack industry really needs someone to pioneer a shift away from cheap oils and artificial chemicals, I'll definitely be much more inclined to spend my money on things that I can feel better about.

Thanks,

Ben

The Snack Artist chips are REALLY GOOD! I just got a bag of the BBQ and they remind of the original Laura Scudder BBQ chips from back in the day.  Also the chips are thicker and not as greasy as the name brand, which I love so much i will never go back to Lays or Ruffles - well, except the reduced fat Ruffles I will still buy.  If the Snack Artist came out with a rediced fat version, I might change my mind.  I am going to try all the flavors.  Don't change a thing Safeway!

Is this brand of chips gluten free? Is it produced on equipment shared with gluten ingredients?

by jessica(anon) on ‎05-17-2011 01:20 AM
Love the fire eater. My friends and I enjoy them but we were wondering if they are baked or not?
by on ‎05-17-2011 10:32 AM

Ryan, you can utilize our new Simple Nutrition tags in the stores to tell which items are Gluten Free at a glance. If you have additional questions about any items, we recommend contacting our Corporate Brands Department directly at 1888SAFEWAY. They'll be happy to help with any inquiries!

The "Fire Eater" Hot Cheese Curls are the greatest chips I've ever had... I'm eating them right now! I love hot cheetos but they just end up burning my tongue, but with these cheese curls I can taste all the spices (and I really like how it tastes tomato-ey). Amazing product and a great price! Please don't change the way you make it!

I am a fan of the Snack Artist Classic Potato chips.  They taste great and they are reasonably priced.  HOWEVER, after today, I probably won't buy them again.  I went to my local Safeway to get some more, but didn't realize I was being charged 50 cents more until I checked out.  At the time, I decided, "Oh well! They are good enough to pay a bit more.  But then, when I got home I started looking at the bag and it looked smaller to me.  I fished the old one out of the trash and sure enough!  The old bag for $1.99 was 11 ounces. This new bag for $2.49 was 8.5 ounces.

Color me "steamed" instead of "Kettle Cooked!"  Too much money for too little product.  I won't be purchasing again!

OK, so my husband and I only came to Safeway because we got some ads in the mail that showed some really good deals. We dropped the kids off at their grandma's and she just so happens to live by a Safeway. Well the ad was for a Buy 2 Get 2 Free 12 packs of and coke product PLUS receive 2 bags of your Snack Artist chips. Not only was it a killer deal (and at first I wasn't sure about store brand chips) but those chips were AMAZING! Too bad we really only had a couple flavors to choose from, apparently we aren't the only ones cashing in on the special. So I can't wait to go out that way again and try some other flavors! It's even worth the trip to my Mother-in-Law's! :smileywink:

P.S. During two pregnancies I craved and ate nothing bot Hot Cheetos... These Fire Eaters are WAY better!!

I'm not sure if its high levels of MSG in snack artist chips, but these are dangerously yummy and tasty :X

Had never seen or heard of them until yesterday. Tried the Snack Artist White Corn Tortilla Chips & loved them! I'm pretty picky when it comes to tortilla chips & I was pleasantly surprised, delicious with just the right amount of salt, flavor & texture. They moved to the front of the line! Love the resealable bags as well. Please don't change a thing! Thank you.

Hi Al,

Glad you found a new favorite snack!

I saw your new chips and thought I'd give them a try,  sorry not even close to being up to par wilth LAYS potato chips.  I tried the cheddar sour cream,  no taste.  the bag was nice the chips had a nice shape and texture but just no taste.  will not even compare with LAYS.  Then I tried the cheese curls they tasted stale and they too had very little flavor,  my family loves chips and snacks but these too don't even come close to name brand.  I still have the barbecue to try,  hope they are a little better but now I think they too will disappoint.  You definitely csan improve on the chip. Try a new recipe because these just don't cut it.

Just some feedback about the "snack artist" snacks. The flavor of the chips are great but they are SO SALTY. I won't purchase these anymore because of that. Even my husband (who should have a dedicated salt like) thinks they are too salty. Great price and options however.

Thank you.

We appreciate you taking the time to submit your feedback about our product, Sara. We will forward your comments along to our Corporate Brands Team for review.
