Graduation Cakes

I can’t believe that it’s almost time for graduation again. It seems like yesterday that my two daughters graduated from college. Your local store Bakery has a special promotion during graduation to help you celebrate accomplishments and save you some money. If you order a quarter sheet decorated cake between April 26th and June 19th, you get upgraded to a half sheet at no extra charge. A half sheet serves 24-30 guests. We don’t charge extra for the cap and diploma to put on the cake like so many other bakeries do. So take advantage of this great deal from your neighborhood store’s bakery.

Is there a place on this website, where I can provide feedback about the services received at my local Safeway store?

Thanks

Hello Ruchi,

Yes there is. You can provide your feedback about the services received at your local Safeway store here: http://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Comments#iframetop

Hope that helps!:smileyhappy:

I am so glad a bakery employee posted something because I have been dying to get a message to the right person.  It'd be great if the bakery 'cake book' was online so shoppers could 'flip' through it virtually and then either place the cake order online or get the decoration code to call the local Safeway.  Just a suggestion.  Thanks!

Allyson,

Thank you for your feedback and we appreciate your suggestion. I'm forwarding it to the right department for review. :smileyhappy:

Is there a way to order a cake from Safeway online?  We don't have Safeway in Missouri, but I'll be in Colorado on a trip with family and want to order a birthday cake.  I've visited the corporate web-site, but cannot find any links to order bakery items on line (specifically Estes Park and/or Ft. Collins stores).

Thanks!

Hello Suzanne,

Unfortunately, you can not place a cake order on our site. I will be speaking with some of our advertising people to find out if that can be an option in the future.

As far as ordering the cake for your family trip, you can actually call the Safeway in Estes Park, CO at 970-586-4447. You want to press 2 to reach our bakery. Please give our bakery at least 24 hours to have your cake order ready.

I hope this helps.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

-Bob

I love Safeway cake, but often don't have the time to come in to select the design in store. It would be very helpful and convenient if there is an online design book that we can view to select and order over the phone. I order at least one cake every month or more for birthdays and social occasions. I would greatly appreciated if you would help expedite this request. Sincerely, Mj

I think an online cake book for Safeway would be brillant...I'm thinking of buying a cake for a baby shower from Safeway but it's hard when they don't have an online book or cake pamplets at the store that I can bring home to look at and decide. I've never bought a cake from Safeway but they always look really yummy so I'm sure they taste really good.

by on ‎05-06-2011 08:25 PM

Brittany, thanks for the great suggestions! We'll be sure to let our Retail Operations Department hear all of your great feedback.

by Sarah(anon) on ‎05-27-2011 11:34 AM

Like so many before me, I've been searching the website for a good 10-15 minutes trying to find an online cake catalog.  You're cakes are great, but I don't have time to make two trips to the store in a different town (one trip to pick it out and another to pick it up.)

You've gotten a lot of feedback for over a year to include an online catalog.  And the rule of averages in online comments is that for every person who takes the time to write a comment, you've had at the very least a dozen more people who had the same comment, but not enough time to write in.

Unfortunately, I'll be purchasing cakes from another company that has an online catalog.

by on ‎05-31-2011 02:23 PM

Sarah, we appreciate that you took the time to give us your feedback. An online catalog would be a great tool for our customers. We’ll be forwarding your comments to our Retail Operations department as well.

Hi!

Here I am, trying and trying to find an online site to order a cake from Safeway's bakery. . . It's been well over a year since the first suggestion appeared to put your ordering online.  Time to come into the technological age!  I could be ordering my cake from my iphone!  So could about a million other people!  PLEASE make an online site available -- I'm dumbfounded that your retail operations department is sitting on their hands about this one.  Take to heart Sara's post of 5/27!!!!  Mine too, for that matter!!!!  Thank you.

by MzJuniebug(anon) on ‎06-04-2011 02:43 PM

Dear Safeway,

You have the best cakes, but I often end up going elsewhere. As many have said before me (for WELL over a year now) , you NEED an online cake-book. One post said that for every person that asks, at least a dozen didn't, because they didn't have the time. I disagree somewhat. I think several dozen think that you need an online cake book for every person here that tells you that, maybe even up to a hundred. If you do not believe me, think of the success of all online shopping - it's a no-brainer. Going to the store, twice, for a simple birthday or babyshower cake - makes no sense. And if you are on a party planning committee, that even makes it even more difficult.

Please, give those customer service people a swift kick. I mean, really, how long would it take to scan the pages of a cake book and post it?

Sincerely annoyed,

June

Dupontsister2 and MzJuniebug, we appreciate your additional inquiries for an online cake ordering service. We are always looking for ways to improve so that we can better serve our customers. We will be sure to submit your feedback to our Retail Operations Department for their review.

Hi, My daughter is getting married in Lincoln City Oregon in 3 weeks. I really need to get the cake ordered but I can't figure out how to see my options and order my cake online. I live in Idaho and the nearest safeway is almost 200 miles away. I know you are going to suggest that I call and order over the phone and I find that very frustrating so please don't say it. I can not see the cake choices and what they look like over the phone!  I did call them and they were polite but said they are not able to even email me a few pictures.

by on ‎07-08-2011 09:31 AM

Mandysmia, unfortunately, at this time Safeway does not offer online cake ordering. Any cake orders must be placed over the phone or in store. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we will be sure to submit your comments to our Marketing Department for review.

by Rowena B(anon) on ‎01-09-2012 04:05 AM

Well, it's coming up on two years now since that original post was made about getting a cake catalogue of some sort online, and I guess I'll be joining the team. I'd REALLY like to view the available cakes before calling in an order (as others have posted) rather than going to the store for one cake twice! My husband deploys frequently and packing up a toddler and an infant for a ten minute trip to the store is ridiculous! I implore you to PLEASE get something online to display your cakes so that we can know what it looks like before ordering!

by on ‎01-09-2012 10:43 AM

We appreciate your additional feedback Rowena B. Hearing directly from our customers gives us the opportunity to improve and provide the service you expect. Your comments will be sent to our Web Designers for future consideration.

by Mary(anon) on ‎01-18-2012 08:14 PM

Do you even HAVE a retail operations department?????  How hard can it be to scan and import the cake book that is in the store?  Like others, I need to order a cake out of state for pickup.  Listen to your customers!

by on ‎01-19-2012 10:13 AM

Hi Mary, we understand your frustration. We do have a Retail Operations Department. Requests of this nature must be sent to them for their review and approval. We apologize for any inconvenience.

by T90 girl(anon) on ‎03-20-2012 06:25 PM

yes several people requested an on-line cake design book to no avail as of yet at least at Alberstsons.com you can at least place anorder online with some of their cakes really didn't want to drive 30 miles just to get a cake, thanks for making the customer last.

by on ‎03-22-2012 02:59 PM

We appreciate your feedback, T90 girl and we apologize for the inconvenience. Your suggestions will be addressed with our Retail Operations Department for further review and future consideration.

by Rthomas(anon) on ‎06-12-2012 10:10 PM

Oh, gosh it will be so much easier and convenient for everyone to order a cake online and I hope, safeway is seriousely considering it.  However, is there a place where they list all the cakes and frostings?  When I went to safeway this morning, the bakery ran out of the sheet that shows different kinds of cakes and frostings and they didn't have a sign/poster either.  It would be nice if I can find a page on the site that shows all types of cakes/frosting, so we can order over the phone.

by on ‎06-13-2012 04:34 PM

Hi Rthomas, unfortunately, this information is not available online at this time. We will be sure to let our Marketing Team know that this is something you would like to see available on our website in the near future. Thanks for your inquiry!

by barb74(anon) on ‎12-06-2012 07:50 AM

Does Safeway have an over the hill cake?  I tried stopping in and looking at the book but didnt see one, and no one was available to help me.  Online cake ordering would be so helpful.  I have already wasted too much time searching for this cake.

by on ‎12-06-2012 11:22 AM

Barb74, can you please email us at safewaysocialmedia@safeway.com with the store location you shop at? We’ll be happy to look into this for you :smileyhappy:
