“Ice sCream” for Lucerne!

84i076653E54BC9262AOne of the best things about summer—you have a good excuse to indulge in ice cream. Think of it as the more environmentally friendly way to stay cool besides cranking up your air conditioner! There’s a great little ice cream shop in my town that makes old-fashioned ice cream right there. There’s a line nearly out the door every summer, even at a cost of $4 for a single scoop!

Fortunately, our frozen aisles are teaming with a whole selection of delectable treats that don’t cost near as much. And if you enjoy good old-fashion ice cream yourself, you’ll likely enjoy our Lucerne Creamery Fresh line. Creamery Fresh ice cream is just like homemade with great ingredients and a rich, smooth dense texture. We have all the traditional favorites—like Mint Chocolate Chip and Butter Pecan, as well as a new larger 64 oz size—perfect for summer parties—in flavors like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Dutch Chocolate and Vanilla. And for those who like to mix things up, keep your eyes peeled for two new exciting flavors in our 1.5 quart size: Coffee Caramel Swirl and Pineapple Upside Down Cake—yum!

Hello namidean,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble finding your favorite Lucerne ice cream flavor at your local store. You can try requesting that it become available here: http://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Product-Suggestions#iframetop

I hope that helps!

Right there with you Christina, I live in the Seattle area an people love the Lucerne Birthday Cake Ice Cream.  Although I think it would be a bit better if it was chocolate flavored ice cream, but I for still really enjoyed it.  Maybe do it in a Neapolitan.  Anyway, I'm agree it needs some serious consideration on being brought back onto the shelves.

Thank you for your time, Kel

I have not been able to locate your ice cream call Tin Roof Sundae.  It is the best!

I live in zip code 94577, San Leandro, CA, USA.  Let me know where I can find it.

Thanks

Have you discontinued making Tin Roof Sunday?

Madeline, although this product is not currently available in our San Leandro locations, we have submitted an official product request on your behalf. Thanks for the inquiry!

What ever happened to the two best flavors of Safeway Select ice cream invented: Cinnamon Caramel Cashew and White Chocolate Raspberry?  They were some of the best flavors of any brand and they just disappeared.  To add insult to injury, the safeway trucks in Las Vegas still have advertising images of Cinnamon Caramel Cashew on their sides.  It seems as though they may have been replaces with 37 different varieties of Moosetracks (way over rated in my book).

We appreciate your feedback Ender97. Can you please email us at safewaysocialmedia@safeway.com or contact us directly at 1-888-723-3929 with your frequent store location? We’d like to research the availability of these flavors in your area.

IT was wrong to cancel out an ice cream flavor  Birthday Caske ICe cream  thats unique when it seems like theress only consideration to mass copy ice cream by other  brands as in rocky road ect.  so please bring back a flavor and type that many people want. and ditch the other mass copied flasvors.  also please bring back waffle cone ice cream too !

by on ‎09-13-2011 05:09 PM

Mr. J, we appreciate your comments. If you contact us directly with your store location at safewaysocialmedia@safeway.com, we'd be happy to forward on your product request. Thanks for the feedback!

I'd agree with Ender97 about White Chocolate Raspberry.  I have been to many Safeway stores in and around Washington, DC area looking for this flavor, but it seems to have vanished from the shelves, in this case, replaced by Mint Chocolate Chip and Moose Tracks.  When I've asked about it, the store representative tells me that they're not sure when or if the flavor will come back.  Veronica-Brands, has this flavor (and Tin Roof Sundae, a lesser favorite of mine) been discontinued in the Washington, DC area?

by on ‎10-04-2011 03:29 PM

Hi Kaiser, unfortunately, we no longer carry the White Chocolate Raspberry flavor. We will be sure to inform our Corporate Brands Team of your comments. To contact our Corporate Brands Team directly, please call 1-888-723-3929 and they will be happy to assist you. We appreciate your feedback.

For about the past year I've been telling everyone who would listen how great the Lucerne Creamery Vanilla ice cream is.

I've had to go to a couple of different Tom Thumb stores to find it because they were constantly out of stock.  Last week I caught the 25% off sale and bought 3 cartons.  At the end of the day I was all ready for a bowl of the dellicious vanilla ice cream I had come to love.  I noticed it tasted different.  I thought it was maybe just me, so I tried it again the next night.  Well, guess what....it was still tasting strange.  I looked at the ingredients on the carton and discovered that they had changed.  The new version is no better than any store brand cheap vanilla.  I am thinking seriously about returning the unopened 2 cartons for a refund.  The regular price is $5.99 at our Tom Thumb.  There's no way I'll be paying that much for this ice cream.  It's a real shame that a company can't stick to a formula when it works.  I would pay the price for the original recipe, but not this.  You've just lost a buyer.

Hi Marcel72, we will be sure to inform our Corporate Brands Department of your comments. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience you have encountered.

In the last couple of weeks I've noticed that the Lucerne Creamery Cookies & Cream flavor has diminished in supply and has now completely vanished from all the Safeway stores in my region. The tag is still on the shelf as if they are planning to restock the flavor, but they clearly haven't received a shipment or stocked it for a couple of weeks now. This is around the same time that the lower-end Lucerne Cookies & Cream in a new round container has come out. This product does seem to have improved in quality, with better cookie chunks, but it's still no replacement for the Creamery version of the flavor, which was in my opinion the queen mother of all cookies & cream ice creams out there. I really hope Lucerne or Safeway hasn't phased out this product. That would be a real shame. I can tell its popular because it was always the Creamery flavor with the most depleted stock. People bought it up fast! Please bring it back, Safeway!

I know someone has already commented on this, but hope Safeway or Lucerne will do something about it.  The Lucerne Creamery Vanilla that I purchased throughout early 2011 is one of the best vanilla ice creams out there.  It always left the shelf quickly so I would purchase three or four at a time.  I believe in January 2012 there was never any on the shelf.  I asked about it at our Safeway and was told it just hadn't been restocked.  I waited several weeks and was given all kinds of different excuses, but knew something was up when our other Safeway also didn't have it.  Recently I called Lucerne and they told me that it has been discontinued and is only available in the small single serving cups.  I went and scooped up a bunch of those thinking it was the same ice cream, but was disappointed to find out it's a completely different recipe, and in my opinion not good.  I as well (another comment above) don't understand why Lucerne would discontinue this ice cream and hope Lucerne will bring it back.  I like to have a brand that I can purchase regularly and it's always the same, and good.  Hopefully I can find another good one if Lucerne doesn't bring back.

Our family used to love Orange Blossom Special, but a while ago we found out that it was either discontinued or not being sold at our location in Port Orchard, WA. I can't find a single thing about it online, and I was really young at the time, but it would be cool to get some sort of update on what happened to the flavour, or to know if it even existed at all. Thanks in advance.

by on ‎04-11-2012 02:16 PM

Chesty, we’d be happy to look into this for you. Can you please email us at safewaysocialmedia@safeway.com with more details about the product? We look forward to hearing from you!

I recently discovered the Lucerne Creamery Fresh Light Vanilla ice cream and fell in love! Blew all other light vanillas out of the water! I think others agreed because it was always sparsely packed and I would stock-up. However, the flavor has recently disappeared from my store (Windsor, CA 95492). Please tell me it is not gone forever?

by on ‎04-17-2012 02:19 PM

Hi Katherine, we're happy to report that it is not gone forever! It is still a valid item and it looks as though your store location has just been out of stock. We'll be sure to inform the Store Manager you would like to see this product back in stock as soon as possible. Thanks for your inquiry!

Hi. I used to be able to find my most favorite ice cream in the whole world through Lucerne (Maplenut flavor). I have eaten this ice cream since I was a little girl living on the farm. I have not seen this ice cream at our local Safeway store in a couple of years. Did you discontinue this flavor? If you did; would you share the recipe with your customers? I have tried other brands of Maplenut Cream and have yet to find anything close to your great taste. Please help a long time customer. Thank you. Grandmatam.

Any chance the Safeway Select brand ice cream flavor "White Chocolate Raspberry" has  been brought back?  I was able to buy it in Colorado about 1.5 years ago...moved to a different part of the state and haven't found it since.  I see from a comment above that the flavor is no longer carried- but does this mean another store/brand may carry it?

Thanks for your help on this.

We have tried many of your other flavors and none are even close to what the White Choc Raspberry was...

Best to you!

We’d be happy to look into this for you nivlag1040! Can you please email us at safewaysocialmedia@safeway.com and provide us with the Safeway store location you frequent the most?
