Waterfront Bistro

I tried one of our new products the other day and I was pleasantly surprised. Waterfront Bistro Salmon marinated in a sesame teriyaki sauce - the sauce was very good, not too sweet and loaded with black sesame seeds which I love! I love fresh fish but the kids are really fickle when it comes to fish so we’re not eating it as much as we used to (or should). This one looked promising though as I thought the teriyaki would appeal to the kids given the sweetness, and, being able to cook it directly from the freezer is really convenient. I cooked it a little longer than I should have so the thinner sections of the fish were not as moist as the thicker sections which were perfect. Give it a try!

so, I just picked up a package of the Tilapia....Herb Encrusted Parmesan. These are the instructions for a Convection Oven (which I prefer using).

Pre-heat to 400.....remove all packaging, place fish on a foil lined sheet pan, crusted side up. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 16-21 minutes UNCOVERED until flesh is opaque etc etc etc.

Now, I know how to bake fish but how could a company let these type instructions go out on it's packaging?

As a follow up, the fish was delicious. The instructions call for putting the fish on foil, I sprayed it with Pam, which I suggest. (the foil not the fish).

Also, I used the convection oven, covered the fish for about 8 minutes, then uncovered for about 10.

This is a great dish for anyone that wants to save a little time.

Hi Charles, Thanks for reading my blog. Unfortunately I am not able to do much about the instructions on the package. I would encourage you to write directly at http://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Product-Suggestions. But I am glad to know you liked the dish. I will have to try this sometime!

Yum!  I LOVE this line.  The single portions, the sauce, the ease of baking, the quality of fish - WOW! this is a winner!  Keep it up Safeway!

Hi all

I just opened a Shrimp Alfredo Skillet meal for two. It is advertised as having pasta, shrimp and roasted asparagus and bell peppers in it. Well, it DID have a lot of pasta, a few shrimps, 5 or 6 unidentifyable little red and yellow pieces and exactly THREE tiny little pieces of asparagus!! To be shared by two....!!!

The meal tasted very good, but please folks, don't buy it unless you are planning on adding your own veggies!!!! You really can safe your money otherwise!

WaterfrontBistro has a line of smoked salmon that is superior to other brands.  Specifically, it is the 4 oz., hermetically sealed farm-raised salmon that is sold alongside wild Alaskan salmon.  It is extremely hard to find; there is plenty of the sockeye and wild salmon, but not the farm-raised salmon.  I would like to be able to have this salmon regularly.  Is there a way I can order it myself?  A store that always carries it?

Thanks.

Generally like all the fish we have tried, tilapia and salmon.  I found the Mediterraneau Pacific Salmon TOO SALTY!!! and hope you will revise that recipe.

Thanks for a convenient and healthy yet easy dinner.

Hello! I noticed that waterfrontBISTRO's Argentine Scallops are listed on the Marine Stewardship Council's list of Certified Sustainable Seafoods, and that's great to know! My question is whether your other products also carry the "Certified Sustainable" qualification and just somehow were not included on the list by the MSC? I'm trying to buy only those foods that are approved by the MSC as much as possible for my family, but we also need gluten free products, so I would love to know if your products such as GF Honey-spice breaded shrimp and GF Panko cod and shrimp that were discussed above are also certified sustainable. Thank you!!

by on ‎05-08-2012 09:02 AM

Tess, our Waterfront Bistro Panko Cod is MSC Certified. Our Honey-Spice Breaded Shrimp is not eligible for consideration for MSC Certification as it is a farmed product, and MSC only deals with wild species. Thanks for your inquiry and have a great day!

The Tilapia is good, but the Shrimp is terrible.  it tastes like dog food.  i'd like to try the Salmon though.
