What to Store, Refrigerator vs Room Temp

tony-produce.jpgWhat should be refrigerated or stored room temperature?

There are so many different types of produce it can get a little confusing what to store at room temperature and what to put in the refrigerator. Things like melons, cantaloupe, honeydew or watermelon, should be stored room temperature until you cut them, and then they can go in the fridge. The same goes for fruit like unripe pineapple and all citrus. Fruit that should go right in the refrigerator when you bring them home are apples, pears, celery, carrots and cauliflower. Lettuce, salad mixes, peppers and herbs should also be put in the refrigerator. When in doubt, check out my full list of storage tips here.

I am very dissatisfied at the long waits at the Hollister Pharmacy. I've been a loyal customer since Safeway's inception in Hollister. I'm writing this letter after many years of frustration. But, I have finally had enough and will be taking my business to Nob Hill where they can fill a prescription in 10 minutes while you shop, not the typical two hour wait at Safeway. So Long! Randy, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention and apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered. We'll be sure to send your comments to the Store Manager for review and corrective action.

yesterday i bought some avocados with a usa tag on them, and they were excellent. the best i've had in quite a while.

they were marked with a linda vista tag, which i believe is a grower in fallbrook,ca. i used to cycle through the avocado growing area there and always wondered why i never saw them for sale, except at roadside stands.

thanks for having them. please continue! [when they're in season here].

thanks,

rb

You're welcome, RB. How do you like to use avocados in your dishes?
